Flippo Construction completes demolition of old route 340 bridge
Flippo Construction Company, Inc. of Forestville, MD uses a new Doosan excavator with a second member mounted LaBounty Saber Lube Shear to process the old Route 340 bridge in Front Royal, VA. The Route 340 South Fork Bridge demolition was done as part of the project to replace the deteriorating bridge over the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. Built in 1941, the bridge had surpassed its 50-year design life-span. The structure consisted of 12 spans made up of steel-beams and steel deck trusses with a concrete deck.

Celtic Demolition of Arlington , VA works to sort materials during demolition of portions of housing facilities at Marymount College in Arlington, VA. For the project, Celtic Demolition employed a Sennebogen 821 Material Handler with an Ohio scrap magnet from Chesapeake Equipment and Supply to sort materials from the jobsite rubble at during demolition.

Kanawha Stone uses a Doosan 255 HD Crawler Excavator and a Genesis Shear to demolish a bridge at Gooney Creek, VA. Kanawha Stone utilizes a variety of equipment from Chesapeake Supply and Equipment, a leading provider of heavy equipment sales, rentals and services throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Doosan excavator and Genesis shear from Chesapeake Supply and Equipment, a leading provider of heavy equipment sales, rental and services are still on the job.

   
Maryland-Harford County Crews Maintain Multiple Roads
Harford County crews preserve and maintain Sharon Road with an Etnyre Chip Spreader as part of an ongoing road maintenance program. This Sharon Road Project is part of the county’s maintenance program to regularly preserve and maintain 1,059 miles of county roads and 222 roadway bridges. The Etnyre ChipSpreader is particularly beneficial for road maintenance as it can surface up to 300 feet per minute to a maximum width of 24 feet. Harford County utilizes the Chipspreader and other heavy equipment from Chesapeake Supply and Equipment, a leading provider of heavy equipment sales, rentals and services throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region since 1936.
